About Walking With God

Welcome to the Walking With God blog.

This blog is a devotional blog, and is very special to me. It started out life as a devotional newsletter that was distributed in church that my husband pastored back in the early 1990s. Now I don't remember how I got the idea to do a devotional newsletter, initially; but I continued doing it until around 2005. I started out calling it Walking With God, and did it at one church; and later on, did it at another church, and called it Food for the Journey. After 2005, I mothballed the newsletter, and set it aside.

But now, after so many years, I feel it is time to bring it out, and let it spread it's wings online. We'll find out how it goes.

The title for the blog comes from what is one of my favorite passages from the Bible:

Genesis 5:18-24
Jared lived one hundred and sixty-two years, and begot Enoch. After he begot Enoch, Jared lived eight hundred years, and had sons and daughters. So all the days of Jared were nine hundred and sixty-two years; and he died.

Enoch lived sixty-five years, and begot Methuselah. After he begot Methuselah, Enoch walked with God three hundred years, and had sons and daughters. So all the days of Enoch were three hundred and sixty-five years. And Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him.

Isn't that wonderful! This passage is contained in a series of begats, but is one of the most striking passages in the Bible. Enoch is the only one that this is said of, that God took him.

I hope you will enjoy and find helpful, the devotionals that I share here.
